As she said herself in her announcement on stage during the concert of January 9th at Nakano Sun Plaza, Ai Takahashi from the 5th Generation will graduate the Morning Musume。and the Hello! Project during the Autumn Tour of this year.

When Eri Kamei from the 6th Generation decided to graduate for medical reasons last year, I said to Takahashi that it would be a good idea to think about the timing of her own graduation as well as her future projects.

She is part of the Morning Musume。for almost 10 years now and the group's 6th leader for 3 years and 7 months. It is more than any other members. I think she did a really good job.

(Maybe she even did the best job but it's hard to decide... sorry for the digression)

So, after talking a lot with her about this and her future career, I've decided to announce her graduation at the beginning of this new year.

Since there are more than 6 months left before her graduation, I'm pretty sure she will, as the leader, help the 9th generation members learn the songs and the choreographies as well as show them what it means to be a Morning Musume。

She will be a Morning Musume。until the last moment!

Her post-graduation career will be focused on music, acting and concerts but let me get back to all of you about this matter later.

After Takahashi's graduation, the new leader will be Risa Niigaki, the longest member of the group.

I will graduate from the Morning Musume。and the Hello! Project during this year's Autumn Tour.
Actually, it is when Eri Kamei, JunJun & LinLin's graduation was decided that Tsunku♂ told me "maybe it's time to think about your graduation's timing too!". So I really thought about it.

I decided that graduating during this Autumn Tour would be a good idea because in August, it will be my 10th year as a member of the Morning Musume。!

But of course, there is still plenty of time before that so I intend to fulfill my role as the leader and educate the 9th Generation members.

It is my intention to teach them a lot of things with all my heart so everyone, please believe me when I say that you have nothing to worry about.
